MBT filmed its 2020 production of The Nutcracker at the historic Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, MD, on November 19 & 20. We are incredibly proud that we could make this production happen on a beautiful, professional stage, in such challenging times. The production is shorter than MBT’s traditional Nutcracker, as certain sections were necessarily removed to comply with COVID protocols. You will also notice that MBT’s cast is smaller than in typical years, and masks are worn by all cast and crew. The health and safety of our dancers and staff were the highest priority for MBT during the season. This filmed version will be available on or about December 15th via digital video links. Pledge any donation to MBT through the form below, and you will receive the links to the filmed production when they’re ready!  (Fundraising partner program participants will receive their links approximately December 21.)

MBT, and the arts in general, have been drastically impacted by COVID-related closures. Please consider donating the value of MBT’s regular season ticket prices for anyone who might share in watching this production with you: $28 adults, $24 students, or more if you are able. All proceeds support MBT’s ability to continue to offer educational and performance programming – in-person and virtually – during this challenging time. We are thankful to be able to bring a little of magic of The Nutcracker to our community this season.

All MBT rehearsals and MBT Academy classes are conducted in a COVID-compliant environment, including distancing, required masks, and restricted capacities. Mask usage was required for this production in all rehearsals and performances.
