Through the Outreach Program, Metropolitan Ballet Theatre provides Girl Scouts with opportunities to experience and learn about dance. MBT’s Girl Scouts Program helps to support the Girl Scout mission of “building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place” by providing opportunities for them to participate in the performing arts through dance.
MBT’s Girl Scout Program is suited for students of all ages including Daisy Girl Scouts, Brownie Girl Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts and STUDIO 2B. Programs can be tailored for any group. The program offers troops the following options to experience dance:

MBT offers a special “field trip” dance class designed for children with special needs. The class is tailored to meet the abilities and needs of the class members and includes typical elements of a beginning ballet class but progresses at a slower pace. Movement, musicality and self-expression are emphasized. Please call for more details and to schedule a field trip to MBT. For ongoing Academic Year classes through MBT’s Academy, MBT’s Adaptive Ballet program encourages integration into mainstream classes for ambulatory dancers with special needs ranging from developmental, orthopedic, cognitive, and behavioral impairments. One-on-one assistants are encouraged to join class with the student if needed. Funding for a one-on-one class assistant may also be available through a generous MBT donor if your family needs assistance. Please inquire for details.
